no house

Nope, no house. Bummer.

We knew going into this that the current owner has a history of being difficult. He has turned down several offers in the past. But we were hopeful that we were offering something good. And both our realtor and his were very positive about our offer, they were hopeful that this could finally be what it takes to get this place sold.

Guess not.

I was pretty good during the negotiations about not getting too emotional. And I think me and Mr. P did a good job not getting swept up, and extending ourselves more than we agreed on beforehand. We acted rationally and negotiated to our limits, which were eventually rejected. We felt ok about it falling through, knowing we had done all we could.

But the day after it fell through, then I was pretty sad about it. Am still pretty sad about it.

Oh well. We will find something else. It just may take awhile.

Bummer.

    Ugh. I'm sorry. House hunting is the pits ESPECIALLY when you find something that seems like it could be perfect & something happens to make it not work. Hope the REAL perfect house comes along soon!

    I'm sorry about the house... but good for you in standing your grounds. I know the perfect house for you is out there. Are you staying in the city or coming out to the....suburbs? :)

    I'm so sorry things didn't work out for the new house. But be proud you stuck to the limits that were right for you!

    I can't believe how fast Critter and Davie are growing! It takes three adults just to keep up with Davie, and she wears us out! She's standing on her own and I know those first steps are going to happen any day now.

    Urgh -- sorry about the house. I've been through that before (we got outbid) and it is kind of heartbreaking. But just convince yourself that the roof was going to need replacing, as was the boiler and furnace. That will help!

    I can't believe that the critter is almost 1!!
