6 days - with a bad update

I meant to get this post written yesterday, where it could have been entitled "One Week" but time was not on my side yesterday, and here I am, a day late. Alas.

So, 6 days until transfer....I hope, that is. I went for my u/s check and e2 bloodwork this morning. Bright and early too - 7am. Yawn. It's one thing to be up with the Critter that early, but another entirely to have to drive and talk to people and such.

Anyway, they were quick and saw me right away. My ute is still retroverted, so she actually used a belly scan on me, pushing down super hard, to get the view she wanted. Although the tech said she was not supposed to tell me about it, she said she saw "nice layering" and it was measuring at 7.7. So of course I can't be perfect, because they want it between 8-12. I'm close, and thinking it shouldn't matter that much, as the transfer is still 6 days away. But of course I'm nervous waiting for the call. I have a few more hours to wait, I'm sure.

Last time I had a good thick lining (10-something) but only "faint" triple stripe. I can't seem to have it all. I'll be curious to see if my e2 is still low, with that thin of a lining.

So I'm here. Waiting. Feeling nervous. I'll update when I hear. Fingers and toes and legs and arms and eyes crossed til then.

BAD NEWS UPDATE - Well, I guess 7.5 (the number my nurse at the far away clinic told me) wasn't enough for them. I've been bumped from the transfer next week, and now have a 6/28 transfer date. Which of course fucks up all the plans I had made. Now, the estrace pill I had been taking orally, I am now shoving up my hoo-ha twice a day. Better get to Cos.tco and buy the bulk pack of panty liners. My e2 was good- at 430-something, so that's not the issue.

Needless to say, I'm really upset. My mom was supposed to come out with me, so Mr. P could stay home with the Critter, so of course her plans are all messed up now too. Argh. I'm not going in for another lining check until Friday 6/22, which is one day after when we should have been flying. So the question is, do we change these flights (and pay the exorbitant change fees) to the 6/28 date? Risk it again? Wait to rebook?

  1. I'm sure your lining will be perfect by transfer! You don't want it too thick either. I can't believe it's getting so close!

  2. I'm so sorry that you got bumped. I know all too well how frustrating it is to try to change all your plans. If I were you, I would wait until the 22nd to rebook, just to be safe. But I hope this will just be a little bump in an otherwise smooth journey!

  3. Oh Pie... xxx
Its so unfair that they charge so much to change tickets, I could never understand that. It just seems greedy and wrong.
I think if it were me I'd wait to rebook as I guess you'll pay the exorbitant fees no matter when you make the change, but I feel for you cause the state of limbo is just ridiculous. Especially when you also have critter to think about.
I'm pleased you have a great triple stripe though! I'm sure with an extra few days you'll be getting the green light again. Thinking of you. x

  4. I am so sorry. I hate that nothing ever seems to be easy for us! I don't have any words of wisdom about the plane plans.

Thinking of you my dear friend!

  5. Sorry the lining isn't thickening up as quickly as it's supposed to. Hope a few days of vaginal estrace do the trick. I've only ever had vaginal estrace and prometrium, and the lining has always been fine. Hope for good news on your next ultrasound!

  6. Oh shit. That sucks, I am so sorry. I would wait to rebook so you will be confident when you make the final arrangements. What a pain, I'm sorry!

  7. Ugh ugh ugh. SO sorry about the change in plans. Like the others, I would wait to rebook, but make sure you don't forfeit the ability to do so by waiting until after your flight (that happened to me once. Cue loud yelling.) This will all work out -- seriously. But getting there? You need the patience of a saint.

  8. Oh shoot, what a humongous pain. I guess it is good that they want to wait until the "conditions" are absolutely ideal, but sounds like that really screws up your plans. Stay positive...short term hassles for hopefully very long term gain. And airlines are such a pain in the butt to deal with. Maybe you'll get a sympathetic person when you call??? Can at least hope!

  9. Well, damn. I'm really sorry about this set back. A curveball you definitely didn't need. Are the tickets refundable? If not, can you get a credit on a future flight if you cancel these trips instead of just changing them? I'd try that route first. Changing flights can be more of a hassle than receiving a credit. That way, you could use the credit for the real flights that you get to book after your check on Friday. See how optimistic I'm being? This is really a bummer since you had everything planned out. Sending you much love and hope for a great lining on Friday.
