Decorating a nursery, IF-style

Yesterday I was grocery shopping, and did a swing by Trader Joe's. Can't do all the shopping there, but I needed roasted red peppers, arugula and cats cookies (mmmm, I love these!!) so to TJ's I went.

My local TJ's shares a parking garage with a very high-end baby store. I parked and went in to TJ's, thinking as I passed the baby store that someday I'd get to actually go in there. You see, I've never set foot in this store. I've heard many, many moms and moms-to-be talk about how great, cute, sweet, blah,blah,blah this store is. I've never been. I'm not in the club. Yet (I hope!).

Anyway, on my way out, I notice a sign they are selling, peeking out of the window of the store. The sign said, in cutesy cursive "All because two people fell in love".

Huh, is that all it takes?

So I started thinking what would my cutesy nursery sign say?

How about "All because my parents live in a IF-mandated insurance coverage state."

OR "All because of 3 REs, a great embryologist and his team and lab, numerous injections, several break-downs, and two parents that still love each other after it is all said and done."

Too wordy?

    If you make that shirt (and add in the bit about a third-party who donated half the genetic material) I'd TOTALLY buy that shirt.

    Ha! That's pretty funny.
    Seriously--do you live in an insurance mandated state? That is truly an awesome thing if it's true. I cannot even imagine where we might be if our treatment had even been partially covered. Maybe still trying...

    Hope you get to go in there very, very soon :)

    That sign makes me want to picket the store. Seriously, it's ridiculous. Meanwhile, I'd buy one of your signs for my someday nursery.

    I'd buy that shirt, too! Except instead of "all it takes" it should read: "They had a 50% chance it would take..."

    No doubt! Or how about "all because my husband's sperm was injected into my egg in a petri dish with a microscopic needle"? Can't forget the ICSI's out there. :-)

    LOL I wish that is all it took for us. There is a necklace I've seen with a similar saying and it always annoys me.

    I hate cutesy signs and I especially hate that one. Love your suggestions, though! (Also love TJ's!)

    Just catching up on your posts a bit late. Love the nursery sign, I'd certainly buy one like that if I saw it in the shop window!
