Never again

Why do I do it? Why????

I will never ever never say things are going well again. Never. I promise.

The Critter Girl apparently reads this blog too, and she must have laughed her evil laugh (I've never heard it personally, but she must have, right?) and said, "We'll see about knocking on wood!"

She has been up at 3am the last two nights. She has really not done this before, not since she began sleeping through the night. Two nights ago, she was fussing, then crying. I changed her diaper, tried to put her back down, but she was having none of it. 4 oz. of formula settled her down, but she needed Daddy to finally get her back to sleep. Last night, she was much less fussy, just sort of chatting to herself in her crib. I let her do that for awhile, but it went on and on. Just a quick diaper change by Daddy settled her right down. I'm hoping tonight we go back to sleeping all the way through. We'll see.

And in unrelated bitching, when, oh when will it ever stop raining??? Ugh, this spring (what spring?) has been awful, and I'm over it. I am ready for sunshine and warmth. I am ready to take the Critter out in the stroller without fully bundling both of us up to our eyeballs. I am ready to wear short sleeves. Please.

  1. Sorry about the sleep thing. That sucks, just when you think you have it figured out...hang in there, it will work itself out. At least that is what I have heard from other mommy blogs. :-)

I'm with you about Spring. We have like 2 or 3 nice days and then it's crap for the next 4 days. What gives?

  2. Hah -- I totally know what you mean -- the minute I say anything about things going well, the shit hits the proverbial fan. It's actually making me superstitious!

I hope she drops her 3am wakeup soon!

Quick q for you -- you mentioned you switched formula to one that made her less gassy/ farty -- can I ask which one that is? You can just comment on my last post, if that's easier or you can email me.

    Thanks!

  3. I've learned my lesson as well...just when you think you have things figured out, you can guarantee a curve ball is coming your way! And amen on the rain. I'm so sick of it. It's raining right now as I type.

  5. Take the good with the bad. And by that I mean that your bad is not nearly as bad as it could get. ;-) Some nights are good, some are wonderful, some are down right awful. Milestones influence them a lot, also teething, colics, poor napping, simply a bad day. But don't worry too much, since your baby slept well before, she will sleep well again.

  6. Amen on the rain, sister! I am starting to think we traded weather with Seattle and didn't know it! Hoping that the forecast for tomorrow is right, and we finally get a full day of sun! Hugs to you my friend!
