ICLW

Hello and welcome! It's ICLW time!

This is my first ICLW, and I'm very excited about having new readers to my blog. For those of you that may have stumbled on my blog and don't know what ICLW is, go to the orange link on the right to learn more about ICLW and Mel and her great Stirrup Queens blog. Her blog is a truly priceless resource I visit all the time.

A bit of background on me, the hubby and I have been TTC for 2 years. We've done 4 IUIs with Clo.mid and 2 IVF cycles, all that were BFNs. Currently I'm enjoying a hormone holiday (and all the caffeine and beer that comes with it!!) while seeking second opinions. We are seriously considering an out-of-state clinic, and are waiting for our consult with them (on July 6). I also like to cook and read cooking blogs, so check out my blog list on the side there for some yummy looking blogs.

I was a long-time IF blog lurker, and am now a very new (and sorta insecure) blogger. I have found so much comfort in reading IF blogs over the last year or so, and recently felt it was time for me to join the conversation. Even though it seems like, for the next several weeks at least, I don't have much IF stuff going on. But hopefully you'll keep me company during my wait for the second opinion!

So welcome again! Please leave a comment, say hello, tell me a bit about you and your roller coaster through IF, or about what food reminds you most of summer! Mine is a big bowl of cherries, cool from the fridge on a hot afternoon in the backyard. Heaven!

  2. Welcome to the ICLW world! It sounds like you will fit right in with where your journey has taken you so far. It is good to have this virtual community when the "real world" doesn't always understand what we are going through. Thank you for your message on my blog.

You will connect with so many ladies you can relate too... and there is so much information out there you can trust and rely on! Good luck with your 2nd opinion and your journey! BTW, cherries are my favs too!

  4. Well, hello! thanks for stopping by my blog!

I'll hang with you while you wait for your second opinion.. I wonder if you are thinking CCRM for the out of state clinic.. I know I've read a lot of success stories from people when they switch docs. Who knows why.. but who cares why, if it works?

Happy ICLweek - glad to have found you!

  5. Thanks for the comment. I'm sorry your IVFs didn't work. When you were delayed a week, did your RE increase your Lupron dose? Did the RE mention anything about being on Lupron for an extended amount of time contributing to the IVF not working? I'm searching to find someone who was successful after needing extra time to suppress, and I'm not having any luck.

  6. Hi Everyone, thanks for coming by!

Katie - the Lupron was not increased, I was on 10 units for a long Lupron protocol for 10 days before doing the "baseline" u/s and blood - and after an extra week of the same dose - I did another baseline and my E2 went down in the 20s so they started the stims. No, I don't think being on the Lupron longer made a difference, I had a good response, and good looking (A grade) day 3 embies. They just don't stick, which is why I want to do genetic testing moving forward.

  9. ICLW! Love that you love to cook. Me too. Love Smitten Kitchen's blog. Have you looked at Orangette's blog? She writes very fun articles for Bon Appetite as well. If only it wasn't 100 degrees out right now! Dinner may be watermelon and strawberries....still yum!!

  16. Hi Pie, thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm quite new too and find blogging very therapeutic! We had one IUI (BFN), one ICSI which ended up with an ectopic, two FET from the same crop which was a BFN and a chemical pregnancy and we are now approaching our 2 fresh ICSI. We too may consider a second option but we'll see how it goes this time! Love, Fran
