Wow, 19 weeks. It sounds so unreal. The highest of all the teens. And I made it! Wow.
Everything is cruising along here. The critter is still fluttering and thunking, although when I tried to get Mr. P to feel him move, the critter instantly stops all movement. So I'll have my hand on my tummy, and feel the critter move, and then switch my hand with Mr. P's hand, and the critter will stop. Tricky little critter. We'll catch him at some point, but not a good sign that the critter is already outsmarting us, in utero.
I continue to feel pretty good, but I'm still tired, or at least have low stamina. Or maybe I'm just scared to push things, so I tend to take it easy when I can. Other than that, odd body changes include really really really dark nipples (seriously, it is so odd to see them and know they are the same ones I've looked at for the last 37 years), gas coming out of all orifices, hurting hips and sometimes leg cramps at night, nails growing fast. And of course, the belly.
I love my belly. I can't wait for it to get bigger. I'm in constant amazement that it is bigger, that it will get bigger still, and that it belongs to me. Well, me and the critter. And I'm one of those people, I touch my belly all the time. I just love it. I think it is my favorite part of being pregnant so far, this belly. Well, that and feeling the critter thunking away.
That's about it. OB appointment (where I'm not really sure what happens, not much I think) is Friday, and the Level II u/s (where EVERYTHING happens!) is a week from tomorrow. Let's hope time passes quickly!
Have a good week, all.

holy crap how is it that you're 19 weeks already?!!? Congrats :-)
ReplyDeleteSame happened to us, the critter would only move for mama. I also loved my growing belly and feeling it move was the best! Glad you're enjoying it because the belly is only going to get bigger and the movements are only going to get stronger, much stronger! Wait till the last month, it's crazy cool then. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 19 weeks! Good luck on Friday!
ReplyDeleteOh that sounds lovely! I'm so excited to actually look pregnant (and feel pregnant) not just fat, and it must be wonderful to feel the movement all the time.
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you!
That sounds fun! And what a sneaky little one you've got in there. I hope Dad gets to feel the movement soon.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your upcoming appointments!
Hi there! Stopping by from...don't remember where I found you, actually. But enjoying the reading. Hooray for the belly! When I think about being pregnant, that's some of what I'm most excited about, too. Hope all appointments are smooth sailing!

I think I would constantly be touching my belly, too. "Yay" for 19 weeks! I'm thrilled for you. I wish you lots of happy surprises for your u/s Friday. Sounds like you have a tricky little critter in there!
ReplyDeleteSee this is a good reminder. Granted, I do not know if you touch your belly all the time in public but when I see that I immediately roll my eyes and think "damned fertile! QUIT TOUCHING YOUR BELLY" but then again, that could be YOU and I wouldn't even know it. A lesson to me that obsessive belly rubbing might just be the sign of an infertile in amazement and not a clueless smug fertile wanting to world to acknowledge her bump. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAnd glad you have one to rub!!! Enjoy!
Hi Pie! Congrats on 19 weeks! It's so crazy, isn't it? I thought for sure my pregnancy was going to crawl by, but every week I'm amazed at how quickly it's all moving along. I'm so glad you mentioned the belly rubbing thing... I am CONSTANTLY rubbing my belly and sometimes I realize that I'm mid-conversation with someone and I'm totally rubbing my belly like it's Buddha's. I can't help it. Someone recently asked me: "Why are you rubbing your belly?" Um...I don't know. I just like to. My baby is in there. I didn't really know what to say and I was a little embarrassed by it. I just love my belly so much! Maybe it's not as strange as I thought it was, now that you say you feel the same way? I don't know... I say KEEP ON RUBBIN'!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that things are going well, and I'm sure DH will get to feel movement soon. Can't believe you are 19 weeks! It must be so amazing to have a belly to rub and feel those flutters... incredible! : )
ReplyDelete"the highest of all the teens" that's just too cute! :) I can't wait to feel the baby move. I'm just so jealous! :) It'll be so fun for Mr. P to get to feel critter, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd seriously, what it is with all the gas? All the years I spent yelling at DH for farting on clean sheets. Now there's no end to the supply from both ends!!
