No ma'am, I'm not pregnant.
Yes, I'm sure.
Just because I'm waddling like a pregnant lady (or a duck) and I am in a loose t-shirt with a substantial buldge underneath, I'm not pregnant.
It's just my bloat baby.
Going into the final stretch here, and boy, am I bloated. I really "popped" today. I've been feeling uncomfortable for days (IF Optimist...is not the only princess that feels her peas), but today has been...more. More visible bloat, more feeling-your-ovaries-vibrate-with-every-step, more tired. But it's all worth it.
Today's monitoring was good, and Mr. P came to see the bits of dough in the oven. We still have about 9-10 follies, now between 19 and 15-ish, with a few smaller stragglers still loitering. My E2 was 2203, which means this will be my highest E2 going into retrieval. I'm hoping that means more mature eggs. I'm still thinking that retrieval (or harvesting, as I am still farming) will be Tuesday, but we'll see. I go in tomorrow again for another peak at the follies, and more blood work.
Thanks for all the positive vibes and well-wishes, it really means the world to me. This is my first IVF cycle as a blogger, and it has been so nice to have support from you guys that get it. Thanks again!!!

Isn't that one of the cruelest parts of IVF? Prepping for it makes you look pregnant! (The body clearly has a sense of humor?)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your numbers (both E2 and follies) are still lookin' good!
Hang in there! Just a couple more days to go!
Love the bits of dough in the oven..That's a fantastic analogy!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the waddle..
You are doing so great! I'm so happy for you. Things are really coming along nicely. I wouldn't be surprised if they moved your "harvest" day to Monday with numbers like that. How exciting for you and Mr. P!
ReplyDeleteI got the E2 bloat too! I find myself looking in the mirror and grining ear to ear just imagining it's a pg belly. May we both have real pg bellies soon! You're doing great, look forward to more great news.
ReplyDeleteYay for bloating and mature eggs! It is an honour to come along for the ride for your first IVF!! Wishing and hoping and crossing all my crossables for you!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you, Pie! I can't wait to see how all of this goes for you, and I'm so glad you're telling your story. I hope I won't be far behind you!
ReplyDelete"feeling-your-ovaries-vibrate-with-every-step"
ReplyDeleteBWWWAAAAA HA HA HA HA! I know exactly what you mean about this. I haven't hit there yet this cycle but last one I went on a walk on like Day 7 and totally waddled and felt my big ole orange sized ovaries sloshing around. It's odd, but hey there girl...GOOD FARMING! GREAT E2 and it's awesome that the follicles are measuring similar sizes. I'm cheering you on and I told MrBeep about my cycle pal Pie.
Glad to see that things are progressing. A benefit of being at the far away clinic is that you can not have to squeeze into work clothes if you don't feel like it. Hoping for a good 'harvest' on Tuesday (((hugs)))
ReplyDeleteNice work. That certainly sounds like a nice batch / brew / group / creche you are building up there. Fingers crossed for you. Mrs IVF is yelling across the house at me "how is pie doing?!" so I have duly updated her and send her best wishes as well. Hang in there. A few more days! Us blokes have no idea of the pain you poor gals go through!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so uncomfortable, but it will be so worth it when the bloat baby becomes an actual baby. Sounds like things are coming along well...good luck!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your dough is cooking away, just as it's supposed to :)
