How in the world is it possible to have major fatigue AND insomnia?? I don't know, all I know is that is what I have.
I am soooo tired all day. I'm not napping, but I am taking it as easy as possible. I fall asleep at night easily (man, do I looove my tempur.pedic bed!!). But at 2am for the last several nights, I wake up. And I'm awake for the next 2-3 hours.
Argh! It is so frustrating. I'm tired. I want to sleep. But I can't. My mind's not racing, I'm not nervous. I'm just up. Usually it is my bladder that wakes me, but why can't I fall back asleep?
The last two nights I've noticed I'm a little queasy when I wake up, so maybe I'm hungry? I'll have to try snacking tonight. Mr. P will love that - "Honey, what are those crunching sounds? Are you eating crackers in bed at 2:30am??" I'll have to be careful of the crumbs, nothing worse than bed-crumbs.
Is this just me? Anyone else have this? Any suggestions of good bed foods?

Sorry about the tiredness...I hope it gets better in the coming weeks. Crunch away - you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteThat is strange (and annoying, I'm sure). I don't have any advice, but I hope you are able to rest better soon. Hopefully a snack before bed will help!
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not just you. I had major fatigue and insomnia the entire 1st trimester. It was brutal. Starting the 2nd tri, your energy level will sky rocket and you'll call the insomnia "middle of the night nesting". =)
ReplyDeleteWhat about a banana?
ReplyDeleteYes!!! It's SO frustrating! I'm so tired when I get home from work, and I hit the pillow by 9, and crash. I am a totally light sleeper usually, but lately I don't even hear/feel my husband come to bed. But then anywhere between 2 & 5am, I'm up (usually to empty my bladder) and that's it for me. It's choppy sleep (if any) until it's time to get up. This started at about 6 wks for me, and it's still going and I'm over 10 wks now. I guess this is why my friends with kids all told me (as soon as I got pregnant): Now you can join the club of never sleeping again! I thought I definitely had more time! Oh well... It'll all be worth it, right???? Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHe he he. I remember exactly that. I used to just get up out of bed, get some food and hang out in our guest room reading blogs and researching pregnancy things. Then when the tired kicked in, I took another nap. It goes away after a while, but some nights are just like that. No biggie, but try your best to plan for it so you get plenty of sleep.
