Watch out, I bite!

Seriously, don't get too close. I have been super-cranky these past few days, and I may or may not have bitten a few people (and cats).

The hormone roller-coaster must be in full effect, because honestly, I am sooooo irritable. And cranky. And occasionally weepy. Grrrrrr, stay out of my way!

I also feel with this increase in progesterone like I've been drugged. Like I am on the strongest, most groggy cold medicine ever. Like I am wading through jello in my brain.

But I will take it as a good sign, that the progesterone is in my body, because boy, do I feel it. After scouring the interwebs, and all of your lovely supportive comments (thanks!) it seems it is not at all uncommon to have these fluctuations in hormones early in pregnancy. So I'm just gonna take it at that, and give up the worry. Honestly, I'm too irritable to be worried. That's irritable!

And thanks to TeeJay mentioning Five Guys the other day, I can add obsessive thoughts to my laundry list of psychiatric complaints. I have not been able to get that delicious burger out of my mind for days. So today I gave in, and just finished the most yummy burger and fries. So not good for my body, but soooo incredibly good for my psyche.

  1. I am so glad to hear you are feeling better (if growly!) and that you have learned more about the fluctuation situation...I can't help but think of all those women who never know all these details about their pregnancies and how that ignorance must be such bliss! Sorry you have to go through the mircomanagement of your hormones, but very happy they seem to be doing their job. Crossing my fingers that the next test brings excellent results and you can go back to Zendom soon!
    Love,
    Maddy

  2. I'm so glad you are feeling better about the hormone numbers fluctuating, although I'm guessing Mr Pie wishes for a little less grouchiness.
Hope the next milestone comes soon and is passed with flying colors!

  3. And I'm sure it's good for the baby! I mean, who doesn't deserve a big 5 guys burger, right? And what better way to get your bean off to a good start. :-) I'm glad your horomones are going wacky right now, that means you are definitely headed in the right direction.

  4. Down girl!!! =)))

It could be the exhaustion too, I was soooooo ridiculously tired that I constantly felt like I was being drugged. Hang in there, I promise it gets better.

Oh did you have to mention Five Guys??? Mmmmm!!!

  5. This is embarrassing but I can't remember if I commented yet on your post. Is that PG brain? I started to but then I think I decided to do it later. If this is comment number 2 and if I say the same thing twice, just don't approve and post this one, okay?! I am envious of your ability to eat a Five Guys burger and fries. I love them, but couldn't do it right now. I thought of you today, though, and am trying so hard to follow your advice and force feed myself! Blech! Have a good day!

  6. Ha, ha, you've got to indulge your food cravings during pregnancy--when else can you eat freely and not have to count calories? I'm glad you found some reassuring information about the progesterone. Isn't it awful the way infertility conditions you to worry the whole way through your pregnancy? And TeeJay's, right--I say all that grouchiness is a good sign. ;)

  8. I agree with Maddy... its the micromanagment that really messes with us isn't it? If we were 'normal' fertile woman we'd be so clueless to our hormones (we probably wouldnt even be aware what exactly was being tested at blood tests because we'd be so naievly happy). I am glad you've found some comfort in the fact that these hormones are ambiguous buggers and that the best thing you can do is try and relax (ha!!!). I'm sorry you're feeling on edge but I do believe thats a positive sign that the hormones are alive and KICKING! x

  9. I've never been to Five Guys - I really need to give it a try. Hmmm...maybe this weekend as a reward for being so brave about the Follistim shots (even though they're not bad at all) :)

Crankiness is good...it means the hormones are in full force! Thank goodness for patient husbands!
