We're back home!
Bedrest was fine, although I think it's funny that I'd happily lay around of my own volition, but if required to do so, it seems like jail. We had a smooth flight home, and I was so happy to see my kitty again.
So my strategy for this week wait I'm stealing from Susie. I like her combo of pretending nothing has changed, with a very large dollop of enjoying being PUPO. As she says in another post, it may be the only time I get to enjoy being pregnant, so I'm going to soak that in. Very wise, that lady, and it's worked well for her. Yay Susie!!
On a totally different topic, I'd like your thoughts on acupuncture after transfer, and beyond. Dr. Famous does not allow it, until after you are transferred from his care. But I tell you what - I miss acu! Anyone have any personal stories of doing acu? I'm not really going to go against Dr. Famous' wishes, but I am interested of learning more about others' experiences.
Have a good week everyone!!

So glad the flight home was uneventful. I like this strategy and may steal it too! Enjoy being PUPO and I really really really hope this is it! :)
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you! I hope everything continues to go smoothly. :)
ReplyDeleteDid your Dr say why no acp after transfer?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you had a smooth flight.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised that Surrey asked you to stay away from acu! As for me, I did acu two times after the transfer of my 3rd IVF -- didn't help! But then I never felt a strong connection towards acu to begin with. So I am not the right person to talk abt this. In reality, the one pregnancy that I had (m/c @ 10wks), I did no acu at all -- not even on transfer day. I did get a massage done a couple of hours before the transfer and that is it!
What I'd say is do what makes you relax. Pamper yourself. And take it easy.
I love this strategie Pie. What a great idea. I'm glad your flight home was easy and I hope you gave your Cat lots of cuddles. I'm missing my cat so much while I'm away so I know that feeling.
ReplyDeleteYay for being PUPO. Nope, let me make that even better... Yay for being PREGNANT. Because you are, and you will be. Positive, positive, positive.
xxx
Keepon - He didn't specifically say why, but from what I understand is they are concerned that the acupuncturist will use the wrong points, and stimulate and/or make contractions in the uterus. I think since they can't control the acu, they blanket-statement say no.
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks for the shout out! You seemed skeptical at first but I made a believer out of you! You can do it. It really worked for me! Now I need a new strategy for sanity but that's another post.
ReplyDeleteRegarding acupuncture, after my FET when I asked about it, Dr. Famous told me in no uncertain terms, and I quote, "No acupuncture until the baby is born." (Later I thought, "My my, how optimistic of you, Dr. Famous!") He went on to say that two of his patients recently did acupuncture and they miscarried. That was it for me! I'm done with acupuncture for as long as I'm pregnant.
I had accupuncture 2 days before my transfer and again 3 or 4 days after - and it worked! I am 25 weeks pregnant with twins after a frozen IVF cycle. I have to think accupunture didn't hurt my chances! Best of luck to you - extra prayers and fingers crossed that this cycle worked for you!!
