Whew....kinda

Mostly good news from the monitoring appointment today. My lining is perfectly thick, at 10.6 (they want between 8-12) , and my e2 is now within the normal range at 321 (they want above 300).

But the kinda part is the tri-laminar aka triple stripe lining. The u/s tech was nice and chatty, and while I was able to clearly identify my ute on the screen (I think she was impressed, and knew I was no rube!) I said I wasn't sure what the triple stripe looked like. She said she saw it, but "faintly".

I always thought the tri-laminar lining was a yes or no kind of thing. Not a "kinda" sort of thing. But of course, this is me, and it can't be clean cut and clear.

So even though I got what I asked for - a chatty and forthcoming tech - I still had no real answer about what the far-away clinic would say. Needless to say, I was nervous all afternoon. Thankfully, they did not make me wait too long, I got the call about 2pm my time.

The weekend nurse (not my usual nurse) called, all cheery. She told me my e2 and lining thickness and said I was good to go for transfer next week. So I asked about the tri-laminar thing, and she again repeated the "faintly" description, but said it was still ok to move to transfer.

So I'm going to trust the far-away clinic, and that a faint tri-laminar is all I need. Unless any of you smart readers know something I don't. Do you??

Onward to PIO shots, antibiotics, medr.ol and a nightly prome.trium suppository - all starting tomorrow. Goodbye lupron! Steady with 4 patches. Off to the far-away clinic on Thursday night, for transfer Friday.

It's ON!

  1. So happy that your lining and e2 looks good. If the far away clinic isn't concerned, I wouldn't be easier...take it from me, the do cancel you when its not ideal. YAY for next Friday.

  2. I'm glad that things are looking good and your ready for the transfer soon. No idea about triliminar, I've only learned about it the past few cycles. I can see it, it usually looks like a white stripe through the middle of your lining.

  3. I have faith that the far-away clinic is going to be cautious - so I'm sure that everything is okay. Take good care of yourself this week.

If you're looking for a completely TTC-free book for the trip. Just read "Orange is the New Black" on my work trip. One of those journalistic books that just pulls you into another world - a federal prison. Doesn't sound uplifting, but it actually is.

    Good luck!!!

  4. I don't know much about the triple stripe lining, but sounds like both clinics think your lining is just fine and no need to worry! Everything seems to be perfect - how exciting that your FET is finally here!

  6. I remember my wife getting "the line" the first time we went and not really knowing what that was about. Great news and good luck!

  7. Yippee! Just got home from the far-away clinic myself, and realized, "It's Saturday! Pie's lining check was today!" Glad to hear it went well and that you are on for next Friday. I'm getting excited for you!

  8. It'll be fine. I had a similar thing--plenty of thickness but not a super distinct trilaminar pattern. They sent the actual u/s images up to CCRM and had their techs look at them and they said it looked fine. That was the only time we ever had implantation, even though it did turn out to be a chemical. But we weren't transferring tested blasts, either. So don't stress :)

  10. Pie! Great news! Point me to the part in the IVF handbook where anything is crystal clear? :) Far away doesn't do things lightly as others have mentioned so that has to be a good sign... we only got 7mm lining and still got over the preg line (10.6 is beefy!), so don't stess what google says I guess on some of these "right / wrong" things. No black and white - lots of grey! Everything crossed for you.

  11. Sounds like great news, but I don't know a thing about triple stripe lining. So excited for your transfer, best of luck!

  12. If I remember correctly, on my successful FET, my triple pattern was there but not as distinct as I had seen it in all of my other monitoring u/s. The far-away clinic cancelled my first FET after looking at my films and not seeing a triple pattern, so they definitely wouldn't move you forward if there was any doubt in their minds that this could affect the outcome. Best of luck, it will be here soon!!!
